Highlands County Republicans will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday March 14th at 6:30 pm at the inn on the Lakes in Sebring. Our Guest Speaker will be Kathleen King, Florida's Republican National Committeewoman and Chair of the Manatee County Republican Executive Committee.

Kathleen King was elected Florida Republican National Committeewoman by the Republican Party of Florida Executive Board in November 2017 to fill the vacancy created by Sharon Day’s appointment as Ambassador to Costa Rica. She was then re-elected by the full Republican Party of Florida State Executive Committee in January 2018 to complete the full Florida National Committeewoman 2016 – 2020 term.
Prior to that, Kathleen was a 2 term Officer of the Board for the Republican Party of Florida. In addition to this and other leadership and committee assignments, she’s served multiple terms on and continues to serve on the powerful Constitution and Rules Committee.
She was also elected by her peers to serve terms as both the Vice Chair and Chair of the Republican Party of Florida Caucus of the 67 County Chairs.
She has served as a County Chair for multiple statewide campaigns and was the statewide Co-Chair of the “Florida Women for Romney/Ryan” Campaign in 2012.
She is a member of the Florida Federation of Republican Women, and, a 3-time Republican National Convention Delegate. At each of those conventions she represented Republican women in Florida. In 2008, she served on the Platform Committee; in 2012, she served on the Convention Committee on Permanent Organization; and, in 2016, she served on the Committee on Credentials.
Last week, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, appointed Florida National Committeewoman King to serve on the Committee on Arrangements (COA) for the 2020 Republican National Convention.
Kathleen is also the current Manatee County GOP Chair. She was elected to the Chair in 2006 and has been re-elected by unanimous consent ever since. Her tenure distinguishes her as the longest serving County Chairman in the state of Florida.
Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame Indiana, has multiple Designations from the Insurance Institute of America and is a Registered Nurse. She resides with her husband on Anna Maria Island, Florida in Manatee County.
