Our next Highlands County Republicans meeting will be held on Thursday, January 13th at 6:30 PM at the Island View Restaurant located at 5223 Sun N Lake Blvd, Sebring, FL 33872.
Bridget Ziegler serves on the Sarasota County School Board, where she was first appointed by Governor Rick Scott in 2014 to fill a vacant seat and was elected in November 2014 and again in 2018.
Our special Guest Speaker will be Bridget Ziegler, Member, Sarasota County School Board and one of the founders of “Moms for Liberty”
Dinner (optional) will be available from the Island View menu and can be ordered from 5-6 PM. Members are requested to let our Secretary Judi Bentley know in writing by text or email if you will be unable to attend. Bridget Ziegler Bio
Bridget Ziegler serves on the Sarasota County School Board, where she was first appointed by Governor Rick Scott in 2014 to fill a vacant seat and was elected in November 2014 and again in 2018.
Bridget is a strong conservative and despite being in the minority on her board, has worked to raise awareness to the fiscal irresponsibility and indoctrination that is occurring the K-12 public school.
In 2015, Ziegler co-founded the Florida Coalition of School Board members which served as a rival to the Florida School Board Association (the state chapter of the National School Board Association) where they were instrumental in passing numerous pieces of legislation focused on school choice, parental empowerment and curriculum transparency.
In 2016, after a local battle regarding transgender bathroom and Gender Diverse Guidelines in Sarasota County- which included language that directed staff to withhold information about their children regarding changing their gender at school, Bridget helped draft the Florida Parent Bill of Rights with Representative Erin Grall. After three legislative sessions, The Parent Bill of Rights passed and became law in Florida and has been instrumental in Governor DeSantis’s Executive Order prohibiting school districts from imposing mask mandates.
Bridget was an initial co-founder of Moms for Liberty - which now has over 160 chapters in 37 states and over 56,000 members.
Bridget serves as a Corporate Risk Consultant at USI Insurance Services, and in her most important role is a mother of 3 daughters- Reagan, Sloane and Fallon, and wife to Christian Ziegler
